Our Loving, Eternal God:

From the hurry and turmoil of our little world, we are gathered here today to celebrate the freedom You have given us to seek the truth that will set us free. We are only beginning to realize that there is so much to know, so many things to do, and so many people to serve. Help us appreciate the meaning of Software Freedom Day, a worldwide celebration of free and open source software so we can achieve our vision to empower our own people to freely connect, create and share in a digital world that is participatory, transparent and sustainable.

But in light of this vision, help us to keep in mind that we are a poor, developing country where many are hungry, starving, exploited and oppressed by those who apparently enjoy the monopoly of power and wealth.

In our little knowledge of science and technology, people empowerment in a digital world are big words we cannot seem to comprehend. We are under great pressure and we always seem to be in great haste. But in the quietness of this morning hour, we ask You, dear Lord, to slow us down. Teach us to observe the discipline of quiet meditation and prayer.

More than 2,000 years ago, You told us to be the the light of the world. Grant us the humility and the serenity of mind to accept the things we can no longer change, the courage to change the things we can and should change, and the wisdom to know the difference.

In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.Angelo Timoteo M. Diaz de Rivera
